Before you come

Your first visit, start to finish

Booking bodywork somewhere new — especially a private home studio — deserves a clear picture first. Here is all of it, with nothing left to guess.

  1. You book, and you get a confirmation

Pick a time on the booking page. Elizabeth confirms it personally — usually the same day — and your confirmation includes the exact street address, where to park, and which entrance to use. The address is not published publicly, which keeps the studio private for everyone.

  2. You arrive and come straight in

There is off-street parking and a private entrance that goes directly into the studio — you will not be walking through anyone's living room. Come a few minutes early if it is your first time. There is no lobby to wait in and no reason to arrive early beyond that.

  3. A real intake conversation

The first ten minutes or so are spent talking: what hurts, how long it has been going on, what you have already tried, what you want to be able to do again. There is a short health history and consent form — you can fill it out online after booking, or on paper when you arrive. It is kept private and used only to make the session safe and useful. Elizabeth will usually watch you move a little, too.

  4. You get the room to yourself

Elizabeth steps out; you undress to whatever level you are comfortable with and get under the sheet. You are draped the entire session — only the area being worked is ever uncovered, and never anything private. Many clients stay in shorts or underwear, which works fine for fascial work.

  5. The session itself

Slow, sustained pressure rather than fast strokes, and very little lotion. You will be asked about pressure more than once — the useful edge is firm but never something you have to brace against. Speak up any time: warmer, lighter, deeper, or a break. It is your session.

  6. Afterward

You get the room back to dress, some water, and a couple of specific things to do at home that are worth the two minutes. If a follow-up makes sense, Elizabeth will say so once and leave it there. No packages, no pressure to rebook on the spot.

Practical details

  • What to wear: whatever is comfortable. You will change in private.
  • What to bring: nothing. If you have imaging, a physical-therapy plan, or notes from a doctor about the area, those are useful but never required.
  • How long to allow: about 45 minutes door to door for a first visit — the session is 30 minutes, plus intake.
  • Eating: a light meal beforehand is fine; a heavy one is not ideal.
  • Payment: online ahead of time if you prefer, or at the end of the session — cash, card, or HSA/FSA card. Tipping is genuinely optional and never expected.
  • Feeling unwell: please reschedule, with no fee. It is a small room and close work.
Seen from above: both hands resting flat on a draped back, holding steady pressure. The sheet covers everything but the shoulders and the towel is folded across the upper back.

A note on comfort and consent

This is a licensed, professional therapeutic practice. You are draped at all times, you will never be worked on anywhere you have not agreed to, and you can pause or end a session at any moment for any reason — no explanation owed and no charge for stopping early.
